Aberdeen hosts The National Whisky Festival of Scotland for the first time

Aberdeen is playing host to this unique Scottish cultural and whisky tasting event! The National whisky festival takes place at the breath-taking reinvigorated Aberdeen Music Hall on September 14th. This is following several successful engagements in Paisley’s Spree festival, Edinburgh and Glasgow’s Celtic Connections.

Featuring over thirty of the biggest names in the Scottish whisky business, such as Fiodh who are the creators of inspiring boutique whisky-inspired crafts and will be launching their uniquely designed crowdfunded whisky watch at the event, perfect for watch and whisky lovers alike! And Wolfburn who are Scotland’s most northernly mainland distillers, with whiskies full of maltiness, vanilla and reinforced by a unique smoky finish!

Included in the price, you have over one-hundred whiskies to taste, along with an array of live music. Along with lovely local Aberdonian cuisine to keep you going throughout the afternoon and into the evening! The tasting will be split into two, three-and-a-half-hour sessions – which whisky fans should know is the perfect amount of time to try and truly experience the wide range of whiskies on offer!

There is also the opportunity for people to attend one of twelve whisky tasting masterclasses (needs to be booked separately) to help improve their tasting skills, and really expand their knowledge of proper Scottish whiskies. Of the masterclasses available, most eyes are on Scotch Malt Whisky Society, Benromach and SPEY and their respective classes, offering unique insights from some of the biggest and most respected names in whisky.

One of the bigger events happening comes from the famous Uncle Nearest – Tennessee Whisky distillers who will be honouring the extraordinary life of infamous Nathan Green master distiller who historically taught Jack Daniel how to make his fantastic whisky.

Confirmed Aberdeen exhibitors include: AD Rattray, Chocolate Tree, Duncan Taylor, Fiodh, Glenallachie, The Glenturret, Glen Garioch, Gordon and Macphail, Hunter Laing, Lady of the Glen, Lindores Abbey, Murray McDavid, PAUL JOHN, Reza Wood, Scotch Malt Whisky Society, SPEY, Springbank, Tullibardine, Uncle Neares, Wemyss Malts, Whisky Sauce Co, Wolfburn and Whisky Hammer Auctions.

The event is likely to sell out fast, so it is advised to book now to avoid disappointment!
