Due to unprecedented interest in their whisky cask filling programme, The Whisky Cask Company’s Founder & Chairman, Alexander Johnson, is planning to build a distillery in the Speyside region of Scotland.

The strategic move will secure future production for The Whisky Cask Company by way of a exclusivity agreement for the supply of casks to collectors.

Speyside is a lush, fertile valley found in the northeast corner of the Scottish highlands surrounding the River Spey. Over half of Scotlands whisky distilleries are here and with good reason. The abundance and quality of its water is the principal reason why whisky distilleries have flocked to the Speyside region. The region’s water has the lowest level of dissolved minerals of any part in Scotland.

Speyside whiskies showcase classic flavours of honey, vanilla, and ripe green fruits like apples and pears, combining to create whiskies that are both sophisticated and elegant.

“Speyside was a natural choice, the local water is of the highest standards, and the area is home to the prime variables for creating great tasting single malts. These whiskies vary between lighter honey-like notes, but some may even exhibit a pronounced smoky character.” — Ross Archer, Head of Operations at The Whisky Cask Company

With all this happening within the next 12 months, 2020 sounds like an exciting year of expansion for The Whisky Cask Company.
